After reading The Rubaiyat and The Manener of Kings I have learned different things about the Persian culture and their life. They Persians are very devoted to their god, Allah. They also stress enjoying life in the here and now, also known as carpe diem, Latin for "seize the day".

Gilgamesh vs. Bible

Some differences between Gilgamesh and the Bible flood stories are in the Bible, Noah is the chosen one God saves, two of each animal are coralled to the ark, and the flood goes on for 40 days and 40 nights. Differences in Gilgamesh is Utnapishtim is the one saved, there are no animals, and it only last for 7 days and 7 nights. They are similar because there is a flood, a boat, and both send out a dove and a raven to seek land.
